Here's my current ship loadout for general pve content. My goal is to CC, debuff, and disable all while doing respectable dps. The skill tree isn't my own design. It's one I found on STO Academy. I'm slowly working on upgrading everything and going to finish the Jam'hadar set(I chose the boff over the deflector for that particular mission). I went with plasma damage simply because she's a Romulan captain. Thinking of switching to polaron.

Tips, hints, tricks, and advice are welcomed and encouraged.

I, myself, see plasma as being better than polaron (and that comes from someone flying a Jem'Hadar ship :P).

The only suggestion I have is to replace emergency power to weapons with ASIF1. When I go pve'ing with my science I keep her at full power to weapons and use aux batteries or just switch to my saved preset for full auxiliary power. This allows you to have another hull heal.

That and switch out the weapons/consoles when you're able to. The 3 piece borg and MACO shield are awesome for science toons as well!

Guessing the extra heal is more important than putting out a bit more damage. Granted, updating the weapons would help that out as well. The DPS of my current setup is the only qualm I have about the build really. My CC and debuffs work rather well for the content I do.

Where can I find some better beam banks and turrets outside the exchange?

Fleet weapons, or reputation weapons.

Any missions where I can get some blues to hold me til I have the rep and/or marks to purchase higher end ones?

Also, why ASIFI over ETII? Doesn't ET provide a decent hull heal?

Emergency power to weapons 2 doesn't heal at all

Ah, heat fried my brain apparently, Engineering team shares a cooldown with tactical team so you'll either have to choose between distributing shields or a hull heal. ASIF has a short cooldown so it's spammable, gives damage resistance as well, and does not share a cooldown with TT. So you can use both at the same time.

I forgot about the fact all of the "team" abilities shared a cool down. Yes, I was referring to engineering team 2.

Aux to Struct Int like he said is great. It has a 15 sec cooldown. Gives a good decent heal and give you 10 seconds of a +resistance. Being able to mount AuxSIF II is what makes an Akira extremely tough for an escort.

On my KDF Fleet Tor'kaht(Vor'cha) I have lvl III. When it's resist is up along with my others, Borg plasma torps have zero effect on me in Elite STF's.

This and what you realized. Since it only has a 15 sec CD you can pop it twice in the same time as ENG team is used once. So you get almost the same amount of heals spread a bit more evenly plus the +resist. Its a great skill to have when you use Tac team a lot.
