Anyone still play Star Wars any? Thought about updating it and trying out their F2P. Seems like someone said it was limited way too much. Would like some input before I bother updating the client.

I played up until the F2P model came out. I tried it as F2P but it eliminated all but 3 of your action bar slots which makes any real attack rotations non-existent. I don't know if they've improved it any since then. Seeing what they considered acceptable gameplay for a non-subscriber put a very bad taste in my mouth.
Also, if you give it a try and have any high quality gear equipped, don't remove it because apparently non-subscriber don't rate to equip it.

They changed it so much, a f2p can't even choose not to show their helmet, and if you've played the game, you know there are a lot of very ugly helmets you'll end up with.
I was very disappointed with the f2p imp, it's a much better game for the monthly, but that defeats the whole idea.
Btw, you don't keep things if you revert to f2p from what I can tell.

If you had a purple equipped before going F2P, you can still wear it, but as mentioned, if you remove it, you cannot re-equip it. You can also only make use of 2 crew skills instead of 3, and you can't queue crew skill activities.

This is what I was afraid of that I remembered someone telling me. Those are neat for a bonus Mercer. Maybe this month or next month might re-up for 1 just to finish my Trooper story line, think I'm lvl 40. I would really like to finish Bounty Hunter (around lvl15) and do a Jedi.

I have a maxed out Jedi Knight, and a Sith Marauder I think it is. I am in a really good RP guild. I was a coucil memner for a time, and trained the newbies.

I will admit their are very few games I do F2P, before they closed it COH/COV was one of the very best F2P I have ever experienced till STO. The games I enjoy that are F2P are WOT (world of tanks), LOL (league of legends), Dcou (DC universe online). SWTOR and WOW are the worst F2P i have played. Their are so many restrictions and limits that unless you want to continuously break out your plastic to purchase and unlock something in SWTOR, or pay for the services to join a guild or even send or except mail in WOW, your better off paying. A simple thing as trading something with a person you just ran an instance with is non-existent in SWTOR. Say you are a P2P and they are F2P, or visa versa, or both F2P, and either one of you want an item that just dropped (say you forgot to roll need) you can only trade between P2P players.

So is there anyone still in fleet that subscribes to Star Wars? Just saw the new Starfighter expansion and that subs have access to it now. Was wondering what it was like, seems like a really neat add-on, even though I never did PvP when I was playing this.
