Dazed and confused. Just finished "Sphere of Influence" again and took a look at the Anti proton Beam Array Mk XI Raw/Blue before I left. Wrote down the important data and finished. Flew over to the KDF Starbase to compare the Advanced Fleet Anti proton Beam Array Mk XII Very Rare(+). Now, I'm sort of socked by the results:
Obliske Anti proton Beam Array, 311.1 Anti proton damage; 249 DPS; +20 Critical Severity; +20 Accuracy (Normal beams; 3rd choice for reward)
Fleet Advance Anti proton Beam Array, 245.4 Anti proton damage; 196.3 DPS; +20 Critical Severity; +20 Accuracy
I'm reading this data wrong? My understanding is that Fleet weapons were supposed to be the best? Given the cost in dilithium and Fleet Marks to get the Fleet Anti proton Beam Array vice 40 minutes of time to get the Obliske Anti proton Beam Array, I thinking I will be grinding "Sphere of Influence" a lot more than planned. Either I'm missing something important, or there is a big catch.
Please advise.
****
After note:
Onmi-Directional Anti Proton Beam Array (360), 326.3 Anti Proton damage; 261.1 DPS; +20 Critical Severity; +10 Accuracy (On my Romulan Science Officer)

I've not really looked at it to be honest. But it doesn't make much sense to make something you get as a mission reward to be better then something that takes a lot of time to earn. Then again I prefer using standard weapons as opposed to Fleet weapons. I find the [dmg] procs to not really be that worth while and seemed to get better results with the weapons with 3 procs, but with procs I prefer like crtd. The really good weapons should be the Elite fleet weapons when we get there. I remember reading that they have some nice abilities like getting heals off your damage.

You had to have looked at something wrong. The 360 beam does quite a bit less dps/dmg than fleet ones.

the 360 beam array does similar damage to a turret. (at least the one i have)
keep in mind that looking at weapons on the ground may screw up the numbers. i find the most accurate numbers come from when the weapons are equiped on your ship.

He is not talking about the 360 hes talking about the blue Mk 11 you get instead of the carrier upon replay.
One thing you have to remember is that when looking at tool tips, STO calculates all of your stats, skills and modifiers from achievements and what not into the tool tip. So if you got on a different character the numbers may be different based on that characters stats. But I actually can confirm at least on the Mk 11 from replay is the same and even more so ATM since I am in the contested zone with the damage buff bringing it actually to 329.9 anti proton damage and 263.9 DPS. SO as of right now the reward is better then the fleet version, and its free for about 15 minutes of work.

also to consider is the 2set proc of 10% damage from the 360 and the warp core (might help bring your damage up a bit more.

I have the Advanced Fleet Mk XII anti-proton beam arrays in my inventory and they do about 100 DPS more per second than the blue Mk XI ones you can get on a replay of Sphere of Influence, even when in my inventory (ie: not getting any bonuses from tactical consoles, etc).

My Advanced Fleet versions with damx3 and acc do around 30-40 more damage than the blue reward ones, I even checked the even better damx2 accx2 beam arrays(which came out after I got my damx3 ones ) and they still do more damage and more dps.
What's even stranger is that the 360 degree one does more than the blue reward beam array, 430.6 damage (344.5 dps) compared to the blue at 414.7 (331.8 dps). you'd think that the 360 would do less despite being a purple quality.
Side note: the 360 would be a good option for someone that's not able to afford flee versions yet...fleet damx3 antiprotons: 446.4 damage (357.1 dps) vs
360 antiprotons: 430.6 (344.5 dps)
Pretty good if you ask me.
*all of this was done while in space with full weapon power.

And from other folks above, many thanks, as several lessons were learned. Considerable differences once I actually slotted the various beams on a ship.
