re: Rendevous with the Nevada

0
I have heard the news from Commodore Turner about the explosion aboard the Nevada, and the Centurion stands ready to assist if needed. I anticipate meeting up with the Nevada in a few hours, strangely I am having trouble reading her on my sensors both long and short range and I am a bit troubled by this. The Nevada seems to fade on and off my sensors, if this were not enough strange micro readings also pop up and disappear, ranges are inconsistent and mass specs fluctuate. My first guess would be faulty sensors and my hope is that this is so and that this problem is repairable. While the crew is new to this vessel I have no reason to doubt their competancy, so I do not believe that the issue(s) are with the sensor station operators. Within the hour I should be able to hail the Nevada or they us, so I hope to conver with Commodore Turner about what his sensors are picking up and from that point I will have a better idea of how to proceed.
At this point we have entered the dead zone but have proceeded under impulse power to complete our sensor sweeps, that would be complete were it not for contradictory readings that manifest themselves thus far. I anticipate we are roughly only about a standard light year in, and RS-014 is roughly 4 days away at warp 5.

While our investigation is still underway, it is a possibility we have looked into and still regard as an issue. Which is to say that our sensors are heavily shielded (as are all star fleet vessels) and protected from spikes in radiation whether from natural sources such as stars or from a created source such as uranium or nuclear blasts. We have not eliminated the explosion on the Nevada as a possible source of the problem plauging the Centurions sensors.
