A 7th Fleet Special Task Force consisting of the Arbiter, Cataclysm, Gagarin, Valkyrie, Phalanx and Shiloh were dispatched to the Sibiran system to neutralize repeated Borg incursions in the area.

Just as a note, the instance has been changed quite a bit.

The space section at the beginning is pretty much the same, but once you get into the ground section there are some noticeable improvements.

A lot of the interlink nodes were moved; particularly ones that were well behind their groups and around corners. You can get to most of all them fairly easily now on the intial strike. And, if you still wipe for some reason, the nodes themselves don't generally respawn, nor do any of the Borg you might have taken down. We still died a lot, but it was much easier to get through than it was in the past.

The Vital maneuver still works well, and the Queen seemed a helluva lot easier to kill. We got her on the 2nd attempt. It could be that we just had a good group or something - and we did - but even on the first attempt I noticed she was taking much more damage more quickly than she used to.

We still have a lot of people who have not completed this that would like to; and we also have the HQ guys getting closer to VA who might like to give it a try as well. I will start dedicating more wednesday night CAP's to running these STF's for people.

Be advised these can take a good deal of time. I think we were in there for roughly 4 hours last night - and, that will improve as we go; we had 2 members who had never been in there, plus we were a bit rusty on the instance mechanics, not to mention the technical difficulties that slowed us a bit when Vrox lost his connection. Nonetheless, if you commit yourself to running this with us on Wednesday, be prepared to spend that long. I won't stop 3/4 of the way through and then try to get the exact same group together at a later date; either we do the whole thing or not at all.

Thanks to everyone who took part in this; everyone did an outstanding job, from healing, targeting, pulling, and just plain listening. I was impressed with everyone's adaptability, perserverence, and willingness to follow direction. We had a great time and will definitely be running this again.

Sorry to hear that Mr. Vrox. But whenever you want to do it again, I am here to help.

Also, there was a change to the patrols. As soon as you get their attention, they will come at you with great speed. So, be prepared to have the Borg in your face in seconds. I like how I put it. "Its like Big rigs vs Bunnies" Bunnies being us of course. Their extremely fast, when you do attack them make sure you have lots of room to pull back or they will run you over.

Oh yes, I was wrong. It was the normal drones that spawn the proto drones. Its been a long time so I guess I got mixed up. My bad. I asked some people in STO-Radio chat. For some reason I thought it was the Elites that did it.... not sure why.
