I was sent to Aberdeen in 1992 and was one of the initial concept testers for the weapon system (Q: Can the average infantryman consistently lase targets under battlefield conditions? A: Yes) we spent 8 hours a day for 2 weeks with wooden mock ups lasing pop up targets on a simulated battlefield...so you see that it has taken nearly 20 years from proof of concept to prototype...does anyone else think this is a horribly long time to develop an infantry weapon? Still it's good to see that it may finally go into production...if the budget is there.
