Effective SD: 64960.6, U.S.S. Hurricane NCC-91997 Defiant-R class, is transferred to the command of 7th Fleet and relieved of duty from Task Force Phoenix.

Starfleet Command would like to congratulate your superb performance and service in the TF. We believe that the abilities of your crew and ship will be better served in 7th Fleet and its missions.

Effective SD: 64960.6, U.S.S. Hurricane NCC-91997 Defiant-R class, is to be renamed U.S.S. North Carolina and re-designated NCC-91777.

On SD: 64809, after years of long service, the Excelsior class ship U.S.S. North Carolina NCC-2055 was decommissioned at Earth Spacedock. Following the ceremony the ship joined its sister ships at the museum in Wilmington, NC, the North Carolina-class battleship U.S.S. North Carolina BB-55 and the Virgina-class attack submarine U.S.S. North Carolina SSN-777.

It is the opinion of this board to rename the U.S.S. Hurricane, in honor of the history the namesake carries, of the outstanding record and service of the U.S.S. Hurricane, and its CO being of resident to the state.
