A Message from the Chief of Staff

From the top down, we appreciate all of our members and their efforts to keep things happening in STO and the 7th. We're aware that with the holidays and other games competing for our time and interest, it will be a challenge, to say the least, to keep some focus here. It's a synergistic effect; if less people log in, then other folks have no one to be around, so they stop logging in. I'm certainly not going to demand or ask you not play other games; that would be mildly hypocritical, to say the least. I am asking you to help keep some momentum and energy going in STO, and in the 7th.
It's been observed time and again that those that get in Vent are the ones that tend to stay. Our in-game fleet chat tends to stay silent, unless someone can't be on Vent; for that reason, it may feel like a ghost town, and that's not what we want the 7th to feel like. I would encourage folks to meet halfway; be on Vent, even if you don't have a mic, so you can hear what's going on. Those of us that live and breathe on Vent should also make more of an effort to keep folks off-Vent involved in what's going on.
The 7th Fleet is a fairly unique organization, as far as "guilds" go, in my experience. It has a good mix of structure and direction while also giving its members freedom to do a lot of of things without asking a whole lot in return. The Fleet Admiral and his XO foster a mature and responsible environment while also allowing us to be jokers and have fun.
This fleet deserves our support and help to keep it running, to help it past what are going to be difficult times until new content is introduced to the game. We need to be more than a functional fleet, we need to be a living, vibrant fleet that will grab a hold of new and returning "silver" players in January and make them want to join the "Lucky" 7th and be a part of something special.
