More than one 7th fleet

HI All,

I have ended up in the wrong 7th fleet in the game, how do I leave that fleet and find a member with recruiting permissions for the real 7th fleet? I have searched the fleet registery when I'm in game and haven't been able to locate anyone.

Yea, there are a few "others" floating out there. To leave your current fleet, open the fleet window and select the roster the "Leave" button on the bottom right.

Post your @handle here and a few of us will friend invite you then get you fleet invited once you log on.

As far as STO is concerned, I would have to disagree with Kazzodoom stating that we aren't the "real" 7th Fleet. There have been many versions of the 7th Fleet in the apocryphal canon of Star Trek (fan based history), dating back to 1989. To say any one of these is the "real" 7th Fleet can be contentious at best.

There is only one "real" 7th Fleet and they are presently headquartered out of Yokosuka, Japan - to say anything else is a matter of semantics.

As far as gaming and roleplay, we have the strongest web presence of any of the other STO Fleets ascribing to the name "the 7th Fleet". And we maintain one hell of a website compared to the others - with graphics, video and a forum that has activity from most all its active members. We began adding our part to the canon on March 25, 2009, when Admiral Fortin created the account for this website, and as far as I can tell he has held a presence on the STO Forums going back to at least June 2009. There was a 7thFleet.de site associated with a German 7th Fleet in STO, which had origins in the game about in the same timeframe as ours, but their website has been down for months. So, concerning the title "7th Fleet" in STO, I think FLTADM Fortin owns it.

Minor update to my previous info. The German STO 7th Fleet started their website on or about August 12, 2009.

So, Admiral Fortin, sir, yours was the first 7th Fleet for STO, as far as I can tell. (Based on several, extensive searches.)

Many of the older groups, doing role play, didn't tie into STO as a fleet until well after the game launch.

No problem Mr Kerry! You are very rightly proud of both this fleet and the real 7th fleet which it is modelled on.

I had been watching this, the real STO 7th fleet for about a month or so before I applied to Join I just never realised that there were other fleets with (such) a similar name!

I am very glad to be here! And very proud to be a part of this fleet.
