I haven't found any previous posts on this book, but I apologize in advance if I'm repeating old info.
I bought this book a few weeks ago after Cryptic started their build-up to Season 7 and introducing the VESTA-class. I wanted to fill-in the background information on the new ship and other random elements of STO. It's also the first Star Trek book I've read in about 20yrs.
I was impressed by the scope of the book (it's one volume that combines all three books in the Gods of Night trilogy). It's an easy read, moves along at a good pace, includes a lot of familiar characters from TNG, DS9 and VOYAGER, develops the story of the Borg well beyond the more canon sources, and seems to fit in well with the more traditional Star Trek stories from the movies and TV series.
I highly recommend it for anyone interested in filling in some of the background information in STO, or looking for some time to kill.

I started with that book, and had to go find the other 2. Very good series, hard to put down. The scope is just huge, and it ties in so much. A must read.
