New Comm Channel in Ventrilo - Starfleet Academy (RatedG)

We have openned a new communications channel in Vent called Starfleet Academy (PG). The Academy channel is designed to let young Cadets (our children) play in the game and talk with other members who are willing to assist them in game play, as well as play the game with their parents (which they may or may not want to do - Ha! I have a teenager), and possibly play the game with other kids. If you see a Cadet in the Academy queue, you can go in and see if they need assistance.

If you are bringing a cadet in, as a parent, set their Vent User Name as "Cadet [@name in game] and in (parenthesis) add their character name. Example: Cadet JTKerry (JTKerry). My @name in game is @jtkerry and my character name in game is JTKerry, or JTKerry@jtkerry. This way you can join them into a team to assist them in game functions as well as Episodes, STFs and with other varied areas of the game.

All that is asked is that you are respectful of the area as one that our kids can be in to enjoy the game as we do. You all make the game a place I like to be, and I'm sure we can do the same for any of our children that show interest in it.

Considering our site is open to the public, I wouldn't post your daughter's info out in the open. If you choose to leave her name in, you should move this to a member's only section. My opinion.

I wasn't thinking that through when I posted. Thanks, Huck. I'll make the move and the edits.

Its probably fine to leave it on the front page if youve edited out all personal info.

Not in terms of visibility.

With the exception of the Command and Archived forums, all of the forums are publicly visible, but only registered users can post in them.

It's set this way so applicants can get an idea of what we're about before they apply.

Thanks. I thought that's what I was seeing when I logged out and looked through the forums. It should be good with the edits in place and the move from the Home page.
