to any of my fleet mates that live in New England/North East that are traveling south anytime soon can i ask a favor?
Because of the new national licence i now have to have a copy of my birth certificate after having a West Virginia licence for the last 22 years. Problem is i'm from New York and the say it will take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to get one and my current licence has expired. So... was wondering if someone who was headed this direction could stop a pick up a copy for me.
just joking felt like venting about something i thought was stupid why they cant take a current id that hasn't changed is beyond me but that's the way it is.

They did that to us in New Mexico when I lived there. Went in to renew and all of a sudden you needed a bunch of stuff you didnt use to need. I think it probably has to do with federal standards and being able to use your state's license at US airports as ID. There was a concern that people who lived in NM would need a passport to fly out of the state because the NM DL wasn't going to be considered a valid federal level ID.

the thing that gets me is the time, how long does it really take to put a piece of paper in an envelope and put it in the mail.
