Multiple sources have confirmed tonight that a major shake-up is underway in the Klingon 7th Imperial Tactical Squadron.

Klingon leaders are being very tight-lipped about what is happening, but one or two who I was able to briefly interview muttered a few short sentences about "the Agony Booths going full time," and made references to a "night of the long knives."

Although everything appeared to be calm outside the Diplomatic Corps Visitors Center, this reporter briefly got inside. Before being ushered back outside by a couple of burly security guards, I witnessed several Klingon officers being escorted past me under guard. I was also able to hear muffled disruptor fire that sounded like it was coming from one of the back rooms. There was quite a bit of bustle and activity in the Center. In the confusion, I managed to get hold of some current roster information about the officers in the 7th ITS.

Of special note was that no officers names appear in the ledger with ship sortie dates older than 6 months. It appears that all of the Klingon leadership that have been inactive longer than that will continue to be inactive-- permanently. In addition, the top rank leadership has been drastically cut, in half. These officers do not appear to have been purged like the others, though. Their names still appear on the roster, but they have been brutally demoted.

As more information filters in, FNN will pass it along immediately. It does appear that something is happening that involves much, much more than the usual paranoia and mayhem over at the 7th ITS. The only information we have now indicates that it is going to be a very long night, in that Klingon Fleet.

What this means is that in order to tighten up security to the same level as that over on the Fed side, I booted any toons that had last logins older than 6 months. Many of the players at Sec V got reduced to Sec IV. Security settings for each level are largely duplicated from the Fed side Fleet. The FFO is the same as a Sec IV except they get the bank related security settings enabled. The Diplomat is also the same as Sec IV except they get the ability to change Fleet Holdings so that they can add projects to the Embassy. Sec I through IV are identical to the Fed side. Sec V is the same as Fed side Sec VI.

All this is to clean things up, and to reduce the odds that all that we've built up here could get damaged by someone hacking an account with high privileges. If anyone signs onto their Klingon toon and finds that they've been unjustly purged and wants back in, just PM me. Any player that has a Fleet membership in good standing on the Fed side and wants back in will be reinstated at their request.

In addition, if you have Sec V in KDF or Sec VI on Fed, you should change your password regularly. The password should be at least 8 characters long, with at least one capital letter, at least one lower case, one or more numbers, and at least one special character like $ or #. I highly recommend that anyone with top Sec levels should change their passwords immediately to improve security, and then continue to do so quarterly at the least.

I actually thought about this awhile ago and forgot to tell you about the diplomat rank I had made cause I could not demote myself , but I am looking and you actually did not place my characters at the diplomat rank and I am only Sec IV and cannot fix the embassy.

hey all of my kdf and fed brothers. as some of you may know i have had a puter prob the last few weeks ( yes mr kerry its the sound conflict with sto and vent...again, and only this combo as i can run vent and wot without any hiccups.) i am currently using my stepsons laptop and running the game off a portable hd.
i tried to log in for kat last night but now my hd is not reading. started the dl and install last night at 8 at 9:30 i had a whopping 3% done. i have no reason why as i an running on a 3mb/s cable connect and everything else i dl is blazingly fast. so needless to say i am dling when i can mostly at night before i go night night but as of this morning it was only at 5% after 7hr.
i know this is off topic for this thread but was just posting here as my kdf is reading i haven't logged in a while but i have been on vent the last 2 weeks to show my presence.
if its a known launcher prob then someone let me know if not ill call my isp to see if its something on this end. hopefully i get this sorted soon as i miss hanging with all of ya

I loath to send this via message, as it best discussed in person and privately. However, operational demands and time sensitivity sometimes require immediately action.

Hopefully, Klingon Intelligence has not disclosed this to you, as sometimes, what is in the past, best remain there. However, giving the current situation, I though it best that you know this. Prior to my service to the KDF, I served the Empire as a simple scientist for many years. As much as I enjoyed the science, it was really nothing more than a cover to allow me to move around the cosmos. Cutting to the chase as the humans would say, under your command, you have a retired "Master of Assassins."

Now, since no one really retires from Klingon Intelligence, I have been busy training the next generation of Assassins. If needed, I have a troop of Orion "Honored Matres" standing by if needed. As we say in the trade, the slow blade penetrates the shield.
