Really like it. Always loved the rope design outline you use time to time. Really gives that patch feel.

Wow my dad served on that ship during Vietnam. Lots of memories going through his old photos when I was a child. Great looking Patch.

I am very humbled, Sir. Thank you and I will wear this with pride. Lances were a great touch.

Why the Oklahoma City or "Okie Boat" as we called her? As a 17-year-old right out of CTA "A" School, my first assignment was Commander Seventh Fleet Staff, embarked aboard the USS Oklahoma City (CG-5). I served aboard her from February 1978 till Fall of 1979, when Com7thFlt shifted Flag to the U.S.S. Blue Ridge (LCC-19). Homeport: Yokosuka, Japan. Like your first woman, you never forget your first ship.

Read more about it here:

Ship's Motto: Improvise, Adapt, Overcome (Borrowed from one of my favorite movies; "Heartbreak Ridge." Plus, my first "Sea Daddy" reminds me of Gunny Hightower.

BTW, I use the name "WupTeeDo" in honor of another Senior Chief I worked whom used to say all the time "WupTFuckingDo!" We buried him about 20 years ago at Arlington National Cemetery; complications due to "Agent Orange."
