re: Quarterly Wargames Training

With the Quarterly Wargames approaching in a few weeks (Jan 23-24) this post is to let fleet members (especially the newer ones) know that I'm at your disposal.

The Quarterly Wargames are supposed to be challenging, fun, and exciting...but as most of us that have participated already know, things are a lot more fun for everyone involved when whether you win or lose it's a close match.

I'm available to help with any preparations needed for the Wargames (or anything else).  I'll be in vent during the evenings, so even if you don't see me online, just hop in vent and ask away...It's why I'm there.   If you happen to be on at times I'm not you can send me a PM here on the website or just post to this thread and I'll get back to you as soon as I can (usually within a few hours).  I can help with BOFF and DOFF setups, ship builds, PvP practice, explanation of skills and gear sets, tips for countering specialized builds (including my own), and pretty much anything else you can think of.

I will also post a few of the builds that I use that I've found fun to use in a comment below this.

I primarily play a Science Captain and enjoy using an energy drain build so a couple of these will be variants of that.

Fleet Intrepid Drain Build

Breen Carrier Drain Build

JHDC High DPS Build

Fleet Excelsior Aux2bat Build

Operations Odyssey Tank Build

When the BOff layout allows it, I will almost always have an Attack Pattern Omega (APO) for one main reason: breaking snares/holds/immobilizations/etc. The other bonuses are nice, for sure, but between having APO and Polarize Hull, it will (typically) be difficult to lock you down. Some of our fleet members' builds rely on holding you in place while Grav Wells and/or Tyken's Rifts do the dirty to you.

This is not to say that Delta or Beta (APD, APB) don't have their uses and place. I prefer APO for the reason listed above.

If at all possible, Daystar Clarion and her two sisters need to be put through the ringer.  If we can arrange that for the 16th or 17th that would be great.

Absolutely! I can definitely do the 16th. The 17th I won't be available as my wife and I have tickets to "The Book of Mormon".
