Sir Ian McKellan posted a wonderful tribute/eulogy on his own Facebook page.
While it is definitely a shame to have lost such an amazing man, as said, he did live to the age of 93, with all of his faculties, and still able (and willing) to work at his craft. I dare say that is a helluva run.
