A New Dawn starts today and let's hope that it ends better than the the Iconian War's Deus Ex Machina ending. For far too long has the Mirror universe been a thorn in the Alpha quadrant's side. There can be no doubt that the Mirror Empire has intelligence resources in the prime universe. They know that the Federation exists, they know that they can travel freely between our universe and theirs. They have proven time and again that their intent is to spread their influence and control to the prime universe.
Time and again we have fought them and sealed away their invasion fleets. I believe that it is high time we return the favor. I propose Operation Rising Hydra. We send a counter invasion force to the mirror universe and start a revolution to oppose the Empire. We funnel expertise and supplies, we infiltrate the Empire, and we support her enemies. I realize that the prime directive forbids interference with alien cultures and development, but they have forcibly inserted themselves into our reality time and again, abridging that directive. In short, they have become our problem.
You only need 2% of a population to wage a guerrilla war and make it stick. I believe that we can achieve a much higher rate of support, given the inherent cruelty of the Empire. And if the Mirror Earth needs to fall in order to bring peace to our own universe and the disparate peoples of the Mirror universe, then so be it. They started it, but we are going to finish it. I take no pleasure at this prospect, but it is what I believe must be done to eliminate this continuing threat to our way of life. At the very least, they will be far too busy fighting fires in their own universe to worry about ours.
That's the way I think that the new threat should conclude. What say you?
