Please PM the Names of those who ask you in this fleet to quit a team because you didn't have vent ....I will not tolerate this type of behavior by any of our fleet members they will be dealt with!

Yeah you shouldn't be asked to quit if you don't have vent. Unacceptable.

If it's the circumstances I'm thinking of, he was asked to wait for those in the group that were on Vent to initiate the actions for the episode. I never saw anyone tell him in team chat that he should quit.

yes, i was there as well and he was not asked to leave the team because he wasn't on vent, he was asked to leave the team because the mission we where all doing was being very buggy due to various circumstances and when we managed to complete the quest, and luckily it had completed for mr. nova but not the rest of us, so we decided to ask him to leave the team so it would have a smaller chance to bug out on us again so the rest of us could complete it

I was in vent listening when this was going on. I wasn't in game. Just listening, like I said, and working on graphics.

From what I was listening to, this was pretty much a giant clusterf***. Most of the problems were due to game bugs. The rest of the problems were due to delayed or ineffective communications between squad members as a result of not everyone being in voice comms.

It was frustrating to listen to, just because they were having an incredibly difficult time getting it done. The voice comm problem, in all honesty, and from what I could tell, was not really a problem. They were working around it. Mr. Hau would issue voice commands to the team, and someone else relayed those commands via chat to Mr. Nova, when warranted. They might have had a FPW or two, and had to re-do some pulls, but they were getting past it once everyone got on the same page.

It was the bug issues that were mainly preventing them from getting credit for completing whatever mission they were on, and that just magnified the comm issues.

I logged out of voice comms before they were done, but at no point did I hear anyone suggest kicking Nova from the team, or asking him to leave. I think this may just all be a misunderstanding given the nature of the communications issue to begin with.

Nova, I was IN Ventrilo and *I* didn't know what was going on either!! I wanted to stay out of this, but you've brought up important points and for me to remain silent on the topic when I was part of the team seems dishonourable. You have a valid problem and you deserve answers.

I will do my best to explain what I saw, heard, and think to help resolve the problem. I was playing Qis, and I am Mayu in the Federation.

The problem with our team event that night was 2-fold. There was lack of communication which ALL team members could use, and there was a mis-match of playing style and character level. You were unable to use Vent, and I am inexperienced in the game.

When I run groups in other games, I have a very simple rule: my groups always run at the pace of the slowest team member. If we have ONE person not in vent, we take breaks for text talk. If we have one team member new to game, we slow down to allow that person his first experience in that task. It's one reason I joined this fleet, because of their logo, No Man Left Behind.

This did not happen the night of our team. We had experienced members who'd done it all and seen it all before mixed with me being slower, and you being out of Vent and going in separate directions and timing from the rest of the team.

Some team members did become frustrated and speak angry words about you not being in Ventrilo, and their belief that team actions are best with Ventrilo. I'm not even going to try to remember who participated in that. My memory isn't good enough to point out who was being rude, and frankly, I don't care. It's up to them and their own consciences to do what is best to either make amends for their attitudes, to avoid a repeat of it, or to keep themselves to teams that have similar values and goals in their game playing. All people have different ways to play this game. My goal in this fleet isn't to force anyone to adhere to my gameplay values, but to meet the ones that share my values and enjoy time with them at the same time that I respect those who have different styles and refrain from teaming with them to avoid mutual frustrations.

I am certain that someone else told you of the angry words spoken in Ventrilo, or that you simply sensed the anger yourself by being gifted with perception. Either way, it doesn't matter. You have a right to feel concerned and ask for explanations and resolution of the problem.

I am new to game and fleet. I have little game experience with STO. That night, Qis was a raw new character. I was preoccupied with unfamiliar game mechanics and not paying close enough attention to the communications breakdown and shift in group dynamics toward impatience and irritability. If I'd been more on the ball, I would have put a stop to what was going on, asked that the team slow down, or simply left the quicker members of the team to do things their way while I re-grouped later to do it my way. As a matter of fact, Mr. Augerson even asked me to take command of our team and I declined the Com out of concern for my inexperience in this game. I can assure you, if I'd taken the initiative and been leader of this group, I would have been using my team rule.

I blame myself for your feelings about being ignored and brushed off. I may be the new person, but I saw what was going on. I SHOULD have intervened but I didn't. I believe problems should be solved by the ones that see them. I SAW the problem but I didn't say anything and in that I failed you and I apologize to you. There is no way I can go back and change my inaction to make things better. The only thing I can do is make a promise to you that in the future, any time I team up with you, this problem will never happen again in my presence. If there is anything else I can do to make amends for your unhappy experience, please don't hesitate to ask and I will do my best.

As for the other members of our team, and the fleet in general, I look upon our experience as a learning tool for us all. I have absolute faith in every other member of our team being good, decent people and game players. I am certain that we will all learn from our own roles and mistakes, and take greater pains to further our understandings of each other, and improve our own personal performances and group dynamics so that we can become the greatest Fleet in the game.

Very well said and I appreciate you taking the time to write that and express your thoughts Mr. RW, but the fact remains that the people at the time should not have been frustrated to such a point that it came against their fellow fleet members. The problems that arose, from all aspects of what i have been told, should not have actually been a surprise to most of us since we know how STO can get like that sometimes. Composure must be maintained as it is only just a game, and it is not one or another person's fault. Everyone please keep that in mind as we continue to learn and grow through fleet activities and general STO play!
