Let me state clearly, this is not meant as a criticism or slam on those that have chosen to go a different route. I absolutely respect their need to find/create an environment that better suits their playstyle.
On the subject of respect, I have learned over my 23 years of service that it is absolutely essential for respect to flow both ways. While we are trying to emulate a military organization, we are not one, and it helps to remember that from time to time. Yes, there does need to be organization and discipline; I've always felt that way. That does not need to override the fun and enjoyment of this game.
It's a very fine line to walk, and I honestly don't envy the leadership of the fleet right now.
I am going to urge those remaining to think long and hard before you decide to jump, whether it's towards or away from the 7th. I am choosing to remain because despite the current turbulence, I think the 7th has some great people, from bottom to top, and am confident the Admiralty can and will work with us to sort this all out.

Thank you sir, for your constructive point of view and your indicated desire to remain and help the fleet move beyond this small bump in the road.
Although many might be surprised at the loss of several members of the fleet, this is mainly due to the fact that the 7th Fleet's membership has been so stable for so long. So when a few leave, it sounds shocking.
It has been my extensive experience with MMOs and player guilds, that membership goes through these cycles. What is most important is that many of the fleet members have already expressed that this day's events will turn out to be a positive step for the 7th Fleet.
The "turmoil" has pointed out a few shortfalls in our organization, which we can now address. The "turmoil" has also focused our attention on those members who have demonstrated the desire to accept the 7th Fleet for what it has been, and to encourage us to move forward on what changes that may need to be made.
"What does not kill us, makes us stronger."
